Evergreen Preschool Staff

Kimberly Crawford
Director
Kim has been a part of the Evergreen community since 2006, when her oldest son, William, first enrolled. Two years later, her youngest son, Samuel, joined as well — deepening her connection to the school that would become such an important part of her family’s life.
Over the years, Kim has contributed to Evergreen in countless ways, from leading special curriculum projects to serving as a dedicated daily substitute. In August 2014, she officially joined the teaching team as a co-teacher, a role she held with care and creativity for more than a decade.
In January 2025, Kim stepped into a new chapter as Director of Evergreen Preschool, guiding the school’s continued growth with warmth, vision, and strong leadership. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, a degree in Business Management, and a Level One Director’s Credential, blending her educational expertise with organizational insight to support both staff and families.
Kim lives in Ferrisburgh with her husband, Carl, and their two golden retrievers, Rusty and Odin.

Rumsey
Torrey
Co-teacher
We are thrilled to welcome Rumsey Torrey to the Co-Teaching team! Evergreen holds a special place in Rumsey’s heart, as it’s where her own learning journey first began. She brings warmth, creativity, and a deep love of learning to every day in the classroom.
Before joining Evergreen, Rumsey ran her own home-based childcare program in Ferrisburgh for nine years, where she built a play-centered environment that encouraged curiosity, kindness, and confidence. Her background as both an elementary and art educator shapes her approach — blending structure with imagination and plenty of hands-on exploration.
At Evergreen, Rumsey loves helping children discover the joy of learning through play, nature, and community. She believes in creating a space where every child feels seen, supported, and excited to grow.
